Students can learn the theoretical foundations and experimental methods of quantum physics
and atomic and molecular physics and are able to use them to solve relevant problems

- Fundamentals of the structure of matter
- Quantum effects with matter
- Wave function (Schrödinger equation, tunnel effect, uncertainty principle, applications)
- Hydrogen atom (spectrum, atom model, wave function)
- Relativistic corrections, spin and external fields
- Fine structure (anomalous Zeeman effect, hyperfine structure, Lamb shift)
- Interactions with light
- Electron shell of the atoms (Pauli principle, Helium atom, Hund's rule)
- Molecules (bonding, orbitals, potential, vibrations, Born-Oppenheimer approximation, IR and Raman spectroscopy)
