- Insights into the basic theoretical tools and concepts of the continuum modeling of soft materials and fluids, in particular, their deformations, viscoelasitcity, flow, hydrodynamic modes and interactions.

In this seminar the student shall prepare and present a pedagogical talk (ca. 1h) on a selected topic in the realm of continuum and fluid mechanics. Possible topics are: mathematical prerequisites, tensors, continuum kinematics, stress, viscoelasticity, fluid flow, Navier-Stokes equation, hydrodynamic modes and interactions, and selected examples from recent publications
