Students should be familiarized with Neurophysics by showing them interesting problems and theoretical approaches of solution.
requirements
Interest in problems from neurobiology, that are approached with methods from statistical physics.
structure / topics / contents
Current Problems in Neurophysics, for instance, spontaneous neural activity, extracellular stimulation of neurons, response to time-dependent stimuli and signal encoding, dynamics of neural networks, role of synaptic short-term plasticity, models of colored noise in neural systems.
