The course presents some of the fundamental principles of solid-state physics. Special emphases are in the areas of crystal symmetry, electronic energy bands in crystalline solids, dielectric properties of insulators, phonons, semiconductors, electronic transport in semiconductors, optical properties of semiconductors.
