* fundamental components of matter: quarks and leptons, fundamental interactions
* Mass defect, nuclear masses, binding energy
* alpha-, beta- and gamma radiation, law of decay, activity, decay chains, dating methods, penetration power, dosimetry, biological effects of radiation, radio protection
* detection of ionizing radiation
* spontaneous and induced nuclear fission, nuclear reactors, nuclear fusion
